A Bit About Our Church

Membership

We are a small church with fluctuating attendance because of summer tourism, seasonal workers, as well as snowbirds. Our attendance in the summer is about 70-80 and it shrinks to a small number (30-40) in the winter months.

Purpose of Our Church

The purpose of our church is the spiritual growth of the believers through the preaching of God’s Word, the salvation of souls through the presentation of the Gospel, and the fellowship of believers.

Doctrinal Positions

Our church is centered on God’s Word. We believe in the verbal plenary inspiration of the Word of God, in both the Old and New Testaments. We believe in the virgin birth of our Lord and Savior, that He became a man to pay the full penalty for our sins. He died on the cross as our substitutionary atonement, and He rose from the dead on the 3rd day and ascended to heaven. We believe that the Holy Spirit is a Divine person and that He is co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and the Son. We believe that salvation is wholly of God, by grace alone, and not on the basis of human merit or works. We believe that regeneration, election, justification, sanctification, and security is all of God.

Baptism

We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water to symbolize faith in the crucified, buried and risen Savior, and our union with Him in death to sin and resurrection to a new life.

The Lord’s Supper

We believe that the Lord’s Supper is the commemoration and proclamation of His death until He comes, and should always be preceded by solemn self-examination.
